Botanical Name: Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead'
This fabulous variety is a fragrant, robust lavender that, due to its short size and tightly held blooms, makes a great low hedge; it can also be massed in the garden; blooms profusely in spring and is then a fragrant gray green shrub
Munstead Lavender will grow to be about 16 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 18 inches. It tends to fill out right to the ground and therefore doesn't necessarily require facer plants in front. It grows at a slow rate.
This shrub should only be grown in full sunlight. It prefers dry to average moisture levels with very well-drained soil, and will often die in standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape application.
